Jane GoodJane Good, Science / TAG

Mrs. Good is one of our original teachers. Over the past 10 years I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the creation of the best student centered educational option in Colorado! JVA was born out of a passion by educators to make a difference for students that were in need of an alternative to the traditional brick and mortar school. It’s been so inspiring to work with staff, students and families that are comfortable looking to the future of education and embracing new paradigms in learning. When I think back to our first year and all of the hard work, patience and helpful feedback that have brought us to where we are now, I can’t help but feel a great sense of pride in what we’ve built together! Congratulations JVA Community!

Rachael Marie Halloway, French Instructor

Ms. Halloway is one of the newest members of the JVA family.

I am so grateful and lucky to be working at JVA. My coworkers are some of the absolutely most incredible people that I have ever met. Every staff member is accepting and kind and goes so above and beyond for their students, and in supporting their coworkers. Even in my second year at JVA, and 4th year as a teacher, I am constantly learning from my coworkers, and growing so much. I believe that I will always continue to grow at JVA. I am also so grateful and lucky to be working with the incredible students that I get to. Each student is so unique and they all teach me so much as I teach them. Working remotely is very beneficial in many ways- the biggest downside is not getting to see my incredible students and coworkers every day. I am endlessly grateful that my path led me to JVA.

Marcee Taylor-Westwood, English Teacher

I am honored to be part of JVA’s 10-year anniversary.

Over the last ten years, I’ve collected many letters from students.  Many write  to express their appreciation and gratitude for JVA.  The letters are an inspiration to me.

This year, in honor of our anniversary, I fed the letters into a Word Cloud generator.  It’s easy to see why our students love our school!

I could not be more proud of the work we do at JVA.  Our students, teachers, and families are part of one of the best schools in Jeffco!  I never forget what a great job I have.
